The Elevator Learning Center is an approved provider of Safety Education using certified OSHA and Safety instructors. We deliver the following courses approved for credit toward CET and/or CAT recertification.

This course covers OSHA's Control for Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standards.

1-Hour Confined Space Entry SST-202
This course is designed to raise awareness of hazards, best practices associated to confined spaces and regulatory requirements.

- Demonstrate general knowledge of confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces
- Become aware of administrative regulatory safety requirements related to confined spaces
- Identify examples of confined spaces and hazards associated with them

This course is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings to satisfy the Site Safety Training (SST) requirements as per NYC Local Law 196.

- This course will educate and familiarize field personnel with the concept of Tool Box Talks as a way to increase health and safety discussions on a jobsite. Tool Box talks will help promote comradery and communication.

2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness SST-302
This course is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings to satisfy the Site Safety Training (SST) requirements as per NYC Local Law 196.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Trainees will become generally familiar with adverse effects of drug and alcohol in the workplace
- Trainees will be able to recognize problems associated with substance dependency
- Trainees may also help trainees better recognize and understand issues of chemical dependence that may affect the lives of others

4-Hour Fall Protection Equipment Inspector
This half day course educates students on the principles of equipment care and the procedures for inspection, commonly used items excluding specialized permanent systems. Participants will learn course content through a combination of direct instruction, workbook exercises, and a practical 'hands-on' inspection workshop.

4-Hour Supported Scaffold User and Refresher
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- This course is a NYC DOB-approved Site Safety Training (SST) course and is required for an individual to use or work on a Supported Scaffold
- Train and educate field personnel how to recognize and prevent deaths and serious injuries when using scaffolds on construction sites
- The course structure is lecture, group discussions, handouts, demos and hands-on-activities

8-Hour Fall Prevention SST-307

- Participate in hands-on training for body support devices, connectors and additional systems

8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher/Chapter 33 SAF-202
This NYC-DOB-approved, awareness-level course is a renewal requirement for the holder of a Site Safety Manager (SSM) or Site Safety Coordinator (SSC) certificate. It is also required as part of the Local Law 196 Site Safety Training requirements for all workers and supervisors.

- Review the hazards of working in the New York City construction environment
- Recognize the various roles of safety professionals
- Interpret NYC Construction codes and Local Law 196
- Differentiate between OSHA standards and New York City DOB Chapter 33 regulations

This course will provide hands-on safety station certification training to educate field personnel on the Safe 9 hazards that can cause serious and fatal injuries.

Subjects covered are: Hazardous materials, personal protection equipment, materials handling, tools, welding, electrical safety, cranes & rigging, scaffolding training, etc.
